The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution, founded in 1895, is the oldest patriotic organization for youths in our country. Membership is open to descendants of patriots of the American Revolution.
The age range is birth to 21. Meetings and activities are planned for all ages with special consideration given to younger members.
Members gain invaluable leadership experience in conducting meetings, following parliamentary procedures and standard protocol, serving as delegates and speaking before groups at local, state and national conferences. The responsibility and privilege of selecting officers helps members gain an understanding of the democratic process.

Each year, the National President creates a National Project and Theme in support of educational programs. Led by the National President and Senior National President, the National Officers, State Presidents, and National Chairmen promote the project and theme throughout the country.
This year’s National Project will support the National Park Service and the N.S.C.A.R. Operating Fund.
Funds raised throughout the year, with a goal of at least $50,000, will go towards creating interpretive panels that recognize the contribution of children during the American Revolution, which will be placed at Historic Yorktown. An additional goal of $10,000 will go towards the N.S.C.A.R. Operating Fund, supporting the general operations of the National Society for use as needed.
“Two hundred and fifty years ago, young boys and girls played a quiet but powerful role in the fight for American independence. This year, we will be celebrating their legacy while also celebrating the 250th anniversary of America!”
-William Elston,
National President, N.S.C.A.R.
